Suryakumar’s hand injury would prevent him from competing in the Duleep Trophy, which features a number of elite Indian cricket players.

The Duleep Trophy’s first round, which begins on September 5, will not include India batsman Suryakumar Yadav because of a hand injury he suffered last week. The right-handed Suryakumar, who participated in Mumbai’s last match in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore versus TNCA XI, was injured and did not play on the final day of the match. Suryakumar was scheduled to play for India C versus India D in Ananthapur in the first-round match from September 5–8, however BCCI sources stated that he will not be available for the Duleep Trophy match. He has reported to the Bengaluru-based National Cricket Academy (NCA).

In the competition’s other encounter, India A and India B will square off simultaneously at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Players from India who are in the running to be selected for the two-Test series against Bangladesh at home, which begins in Chennai on September 19, will have the chance to compete in this competition.
